Piercing jewellery FAQ
Is titanium jewellery safe for sensitive ears and new piercings?
Yes. Every Oxies piece is ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium, the same nickel-free standard used in medical implants, so it's suitable for sensitive skin and for healed or healing piercings.
What gauge do I need for a septum, helix or tragus piercing?
Most septum, helix, tragus and conch piercings are 16G (1.2mm). Some nostril and helix piercings use 18G (1.0mm), and industrial barbells are usually 14G (1.6mm). If you're not sure, ask your piercer, gauge sizes are printed on every Oxies product page.
What's the difference between a seamless ring, a clicker and a labret?
A seamless ring is a seamless hoop with a removable section; a hinged clicker has that section on a hinge, so it clicks open and shut with one hand. A labret is a straight bar with a flat back and a decorative front, ideal for tragus, helix, conch and lobe piercings.
