Flat Back Earrings

102 products

Flat back earrings in ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium, sterilised and sealed so they are nickel free and ready to wear straight from the pack. A flat back earring, also called a labret stud, has a smooth disc instead of a butterfly, so it sits flush behind the ear with nothing to catch on hair, headphones or pillows.

Choose from plain balls and discs, CZ and opal stones, hearts, stars, clouds, shells and clusters, in threaded and threadless push-fit styles. Most are 16G (1.2mm) with 6mm or 8mm posts, which fits the majority of healed helix, tragus, conch, forward helix and lobe piercings, in silver and gold PVD.

Prices start at £9 and orders over £25 ship free in the UK. Buy 2 to save 25% or 3 or more to save 40%.

Are flat back earrings good for sleeping in?

Yes. The flat disc sits against the ear instead of poking into it, which is why piercers recommend flat backs for side sleepers and for anyone who wears earrings all the time.

What size flat back earring do I need?

A healed helix, tragus, conch or lobe piercing usually takes a 16G (1.2mm) post that is 6mm long. Choose 8mm if you were pierced with a longer bar and have not downsized, or if the piercing is still slightly swollen.

Threaded or threadless?

Threadless (push-fit) tops pull straight out and press back in, which is easier to change at home. Threaded tops screw on and are slightly more secure. Both are fine for everyday wear.
